It sounded pretty hair-raising, and the complete absence of fixed anchors told a story! Does the migi-mata get a lot of ascents in summer? I think I might have to leave that to someone a bit braver ;)Tony Granthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17782195653104572212noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1392004385263845172.post-17669368822434311302016-02-03T12:53:45.028-08:002016-02-03T12:53:45.028-08:00Congratulations on achieving this great route. Thanks for the nice feedback and the ques...Hi Arif

Thanks for the nice feedback and the question. You're in a convenient spot at Isehara for hiking in the Tanzawa range. Your nearest mountain is Oyama (大山 1252m), and you can take a bus from Isehara station to the top of the road on the way up. After that you can hike to the top in an hour or two, and there are some great temples on the way. If you take the Odakyu line train a few more stops down to Shibusawa, you can take a bus to Okura (大倉) and then hike up to Tonodake (塔ノ岳 1491m) and Tanzawa-san (丹沢山 1567m), which is one of the 'nihon hyakumeizan'. Those are all good hikes in winter, and should have a fair bit of snow on them. They'd be nice choices for you to get used to hiking in the snow. If you don't have any experience of higher mountains, it's probably best to start local and head to the higher ranges of the Alps this summer once the snow has melted. To hike safely in the Alps in winter you need specific equipment and skills, so you might find it good to learn all that in the company of someone more experienced.

Have fun! There is so much great hiking and climbing in Japan :)

TonyTony Granthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17782195653104572212noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1392004385263845172.post-24942087904304947012016-01-25T05:11:36.042-08:002016-01-25T05:11:36.042-08:00Hi, i'm arif from malaysia but i live in iseha...Hi, i'm arif from malaysia but i live in isehara.
